I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday looking for a book on blogging and right next to those books an usual title caught my eye: Building Findable Websites. Within a few minutes of scanning the book, I knew this was the one I'd be getting. Literally every page had website resources or had pieces of code. It even has a chapter on blogging. Another reason I choose this book was because it didn't have long explanations on why a developer needs to do this or that. The whys were to the point and then went right into the hows. I wasn't looking for books with dozens of interviews or other inspirational stories although those books do have a place on my bookshelf. Thanks to the author for not writing just another SEO book.

Aarron,

The book is wonderful. I feel like you wrote it just for me, the budding findability consultant and web optimist. Rarely have I picked up a book that was so open, so practical, so directly and completely useful. Halfway through I thought, man, I wish this guy would talk some about aggregating RSS content to the benefit of a business and whamo, turned the page to another great subheading on "Displaying RSS on your site." Thanks man. The book is painfully good. I can't wait to see what's in those extra pdf's!

@Michael - You have a lot of people to wrangle and convince to get a book rolling! You kept me posted with every step of the proposal process, which was much appreciated.

I think I need to recover from the first book before diving into the next ;).

Of course it helps that Aarron was one of the most thoughtful and dedicated authors I've worked with. He never took his eye off the prize. I forgot that the proposal process took six months; I'll try to do better for you with your next book, Aarron!

Congraultionans, Aarron. That's pretty fantastic. And thanks for sharing the behind the scenes info on how this all came about. It's an interesting process.
